A working farm,
first and foremost.
Stora Hasta is our home, in Strängnäs in Sörmland. The days are set by the animals, the weather and the light — and the workshop fits itself around them.
The farm sits on Fogdön, a peninsula where the land reaches out into Lake Mälaren. Our fields run down to the water in the south, to the bay known as Sörfjärden.
The land
Pasture, woodland and shoreline on the Fogdön peninsula, just outside Strängnäs. The farm faces Mälaren in the south — the stretch of water we know as Sörfjärden — and the fields change character four times a year, as does the work.
The animals
Horses are the reason the first sign was ever carved here — a name on a stall door, made properly, to last.
Visiting
We welcome visitors by appointment. Write to us and we will find a time that suits the season.
